Trip To Goa

This was my last trip of my educational career. I went to this trip as industrial tour with my classmates in my final year MBA...

I started my journey in Train from Yaswanthpur Railway Station on Tuesday, on Wednesday morning when I woke up I had already entered Goa.. I was so surprised to see Goa as it was almost similar to Mangalore... the houses with Sloping Roofs, beach side houses, full of coconut trees and cashewnut trees, the secenic beauty...

Goa is India's smallest state . Panaji (Panjim) is the state's capital. Vasco da Gama (Vasco) is the largest city. The historic city of Margao (Madgaon) still exhibits the influence of Portuguese culture. The most popular alcoholic beverage in Goa is feni; Cashew feni.
We had been to Boat Cruise where we enjoyed Goa tradition dances in the boat and also later danced with everyone in the boat.
The main industries we visited was a car manufacturing company and UB factory. These are the only 2 industries we visited in our industrial trip which took hardly one full day.

Our other 2 days work was only Sight seeing :-)

Goa is known for its Basilica of Bom Jesus church in Old Goa. The basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. The Basilica of Bom Jesus church is around 400 years old. It has relics of the body of St. Francis Xavier kept in well decorated casket, but one can touch it only during the periodic expositions.

Beaches I visited in Goa :-)

The main attraction while going to beaches is the Lime soda and Kolikum (punarpuli syrup) soda. Another main attraction is the Water games like Parachute riding, Motor ride, and many more.

Dona Paula Beach is where two of Goa's famous rivers meet the Arabian sea. Named after Dona Paula de Menezes, it's also called the Lovers Paradise. They also say that Ek Duje Ke Liye movie is about these two lovers Dona & Paula...
Anjuna Beach - key attraction is a magnificent Albuquerque Mansion built in 1920, flanked by octagonal towers and an attractive Mangalore tile-roof....Palolem Beach A scenic beach in extreme south Goa. Getting a bit crowded. Good eating options. Turning pricey though the rocks and islands off its shore and Known for its scenic beauty.Calangute Beach - aka Queen of all Beaches in Goa. Once highly rated water gamesBaga Beach A family-beach and charter tourist destination with good shopping.

Fort Aguada is an old,
Portuguese fort overlooking the vast expanses of Arabian Sea. This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi river.A part of the fort is converted to central Jail. Fort Aguada was the most prized and crucial fort of Portuguese.
Fort Aguada light house
The fort got its name 'Aguada' from the word Aguada (Portuguese for water), because of the three fresh water springs inside it.

Shri Mangueshi 400-year-old temple is dedicated to Lord
Shiva. He is a kuldevta of many Hindus in Goa. The temple is noted for the pillars which are considered to be the most beautiful among the temples in Goa. There is a prominent Nandi Bull. A beautiful seven-storeyed deepstambha, stands at the gates in the temple. The temple also has a magnificent water tank, which is believe to be the oldest part of the temple.
We were lucky enough that day as we could see Goa peoples Hindu tradition marriage in Temple.

Hmmm with these good memories of Goa we were back to Bangalore.....
